Review of Sleeping Beauty (1959) by Andrew S — 29 Feb 2012
It took 6 years and 6 million (in 1950's money) to create this 74 minute animation masterpiece. It makes me wonder why it didn't take even longer and cost even more, not least because of the genius of Eyvind Earle, who was in charge of its background look.
It has a look that won't ever be fully replicated, it is just too much work. One of the crowning jewels of Disney animation. As usual, my favorite character is the villain, the evil witch Malificent.
And it makes you wonder which color is better for girls, pink or blue, lol.
