Review of Sleepers (1996) by Christian C — 16 Jan 2011
Though it seemed like a Scorsese film from the start, not because De Niro was there, but because of the setting and style, the streets may look like it was filled by Italian gangsters but it's not Goodfellas, it is a story of justice out of hand and reuniting friendship.
Sleepers was played along by a good storytelling. The lives of four childhood friends were forever changed by an accident, they ended up locked and abused, they successfully managed their payback plan by being clever.
But it's not a happy story. It's not a horrifying film and not overly done, it is a fairly good film.
