Review of Sleepers (1996) by Eric R — 10 Jun 2008
Sleepers the story following and centering around four to five young Boys at least that live in a typical neiborhood street in New York City. But where the story goes is light hearted in the beginging explaining the backstories of these friendships, but eventully it shifts to a cold hearted plot and gets much darker.
The Charcter of Kevin Bacon who plays a gaurd at a refrom school molest the younger charcters and when thay get out and are big boys they get revenge on that guard. The the mood change is pretty suttle and unexpected and it adds the drama a good story and good film needs and I like watching films like that.
But the director Barry Levinson did get an all star cast to tag along for the ride. The soild actors in the film are Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt, Dustin Hoffman , Billy Crudup and Kevin Bacon. So you couldent asked for a better cast of actors.
Besides that factor I liked the directors taste and vision. So every drama person should watch this one.
