This is movie that want leave you untouched. A true story, based on the book by Lorenzo Carcaterra (which you should definitely read!).
Four boys play a stupid prank, that goes terribly wrong. As a result their lives are changed for ever when they are send to a boys correctional facility. The guards in that plays are cruel men, looking for their own pleasure.
When they get out after a couple of years, they go their own way. One of them stays in Hell's Kitchen and becomes a journalist, another becomes a laywer, and two become the leaders of a gang. When these last two see one of the guards again, years later, decide that it is time for revenge, and they shoot him. That's when the others come in and the will finally have their justice.
