Review of Sleepers (1996) by Brad M — 07 Dec 2009
A fairly disturbing tale of a group of young boys sent to a reform school as punishment for an accidental crime. In this school, they are sexually abused and physically beaten almost daily for over a year.
Now years later they are all out, and hungry for revenge. It's a good story, and most of the sexual abuse scenes are pretty cringe worthy and uncomfortable, but I can't say it's powerful material.
I LOVE the 3rd act when they plot their revenge, but I was more than a bit disappointed with the methods they used. It's worth a watch.
