Review of Sleepers (1996) by Lee B — 20 Jan 2011
The subject matter in Sleepers is dealt with in a very mature and appropriate way through the use of visual effects and a comprising score. The strength of ensemble casts is utilised to greatness with Jason Patric, Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon and two screen greats Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffman featuring in this in-depth courtroom based drama.
It's not perfect but through the phenomenal cast and great screenwriting nothing much is affected, and the end result is a well spent 140 minutes. Barry Levinson is a good director.
