Review of Sleepers (1996) by Joe G — 05 Nov 2011
A telling tale of revenge and redemption. When four kids are sent to reform school after a prank goes horribly wrong, their lives are changed forever when they are sexually abused by the guards for two long years. As the plot comes into focus, their lives intersect one more time as they are forced to confront their awful past.
With a top notch ensemble cast, and sometimes painfully hard-to-watch scenes, Sleepers is a thrilling crime/legal drama that hits home. The best part of the movie, however, is the ending; one last meal among friends who finally confronted the past, and will never see each other again. Supposedly a true story, it's a must see for fans of the genre.
