Review of Sleepers (1996) by Damon B — 06 Sep 2013
Great "sleeper" hit! Seeing this again is worth it with a powerful supporting cast! The corruption and struggle is portrayed well! The test of time overcomes the strength of four true friends! Compelling! Had to watch it a third time to see each of the characters interaction with one another.
This underrated 1996 film is full of powerful performances! Director Barry Levinson ("Rain Man," "Diner") presents the story as heart-wrenching and does an excellent job of getting its point across without showing or saying too much.
It's like De Niro's "A Bronx Tale" and "Diner" colliding together. Third time's a charm watching this! Outstanding!
