Review of Sleeper (2012) by Max P — 27 Jun 2009
A flawless blend of his witty standup-style one-liners and pitch perfect visual/ silent comedy. Personally, 70s sci fi has always unsettled me, in a bit of a weird, but engaging way (all that white + grey...). An amusing nostalgic juxtaposition of his usual comedy topics combined with piping hot New Orleans ragtime soundtrack against this (admittedly casual) sci fi setting, it's my favourite choice from the gag-heavy strand of Woody's work.
At one point, he eats a GIANT FUTURE BANANA! That leads to the huge throwaway banana peel gag. Come on, that's worth a rental at least!
