Review of Sleeper (1973) by Brian B — 08 Oct 2007
Sleeper is a fantastic comedy. I just don't know where Woody Allen comes up with these ideas, so original he truly is a genious. Sleeper is about a man who, unbeknownst to him, is cryogenically frozen in 1973 and is woken up 200 years later in a society that is very much the opposite of ours in many aspects.
It is very funny and much of the time shot in a Marx Bros/Three Stooges type slapstick style that I normally am not fond of but works very well here. I would definately recommend this film to anyone as it is brillantly written, acted and directed.
Overall 4.0/4 Stars Grade = A-.
