Review of Sleepaway Camp (1983) by Phil G — 30 Jan 2008
I totally just watched this last night at a campus screening. It's really dated and has some shitty performances, so if you go into horror movies with names like "Sleepaway Camp" in order to see poignant tales of humans overcoming adversity, this is not your movie.
If you want to see some seriously fucked up stuff, though, this is the movie. And the ending includes one of the most profoundly disturbing images you'll ever see. This might actually be the ultimate movie to watch with a bunch of slightly inebriated friends.
I would definitely rate this R for early eighties short pants and wholesale slaughter of children.
