Review of Sleepaway Camp (1983) by Ethan Y — 01 Nov 2008
The brilliance of Sleepaway Camp is that it spends the first 70 minutes lulling you into thinking it's just another Slasher film. It's got entertaining kills, cheesy acting, cheesy music, cheesy dialogue, cheesy.
..welll everything really. Then it drops the ending on you. It doesn't matter if you've figured out who the killer is, or even if you know the twist beforehand, the ending is completely shocking, and one of the best in a horror movie, bar none.
