I knew nothing except this was a moderately revered 80s classic and there was some kind of twist ending. The ending is damn creepy (mostly for the way it is done) but it's not completely unpredictable, especially if you know there's a twist, and it's not really a good ending storywise.
They pretty much leave you with the twist and then the movie ends. No explanations for anything. However, it's disturbingly done, and the rest of the movie is awesome. It's complete cheese in the best way.
