Review of Sleepaway Camp (1983) by Mark N — 28 Apr 2012
Totally generic teen-holiday-camp slasher that steals its plot and characters from better movies. The acting is especially stilted and painful to watch and it feels every minute of its running time. Where it does succeed is in the occasional semi original kill scene and where any of the cast are not required to move or speak.
The much vaunted final scene is by far the most effective of the entire sorry affair but actually has virtually no meaning to everything that came before and fails to really be any kind of meaningful revelation.
