Review of Sleepaway Camp (1983) by Jez M — 28 Oct 2013
Sleepaway Camp is one of the most under appreciated horror films of the 80's. Blame Friday the 13th for that one. It actually is a gem that unfortunately can't get as much publicity as the other "Slasher gods" because of it's revealing ending.
The film has freaky scenes and great character development. Karen Fields as Judy, makes Nancy Allen (Chris Hargensen in Carrie) look like a Spice Girl with her nasty hate force. Felissa Rose on the other hand creeps us out with Angela's all too gripping gaze of death.
This movie is well worth the watch because of how original and disturbing the plot is.
