Review of Sleepaway Camp (1983) by Harry W — 31 Aug 2010

This movie starts off as your typical slasher film, a praticularly cheesy one with praticularly lame acting even, and there's nothing that really stands out. It's pretty boring, really, it has a few moments, but again, nothing that stands out.

Then the ending comes and, while who the killer was was more than predictable, the final twist itself was certainly not. This twist ending was similar to the one in Identity in that I actually DID predict it as op, but only jokingly, because I never expected it to actually happen that way.

It's also similar to Identity in the sense that it made the movie, it made the movie something other than just the same as every other movie of the like and finally made it stand out. It's not a great movie, but it is watching for it's total "WTF" ending and for the final scene.

It's appears to be just another slasher and something you've already seen before many times but at the end of it, you'll come to the conclusion that it's anything but.
