Review of SLC Punk (1998) by Dan M — 07 Dec 2009
This was a very good film. As I was watching it I could forsee that the main character would face a drastic change in his lifestyle and ideals.
For the most part it hints at the same thoughts and feelings that I have when I think of anarchism and some of the punk ideals; particularly all the talk of anti-authoritarinism, chaos, and freedom; all of which is one-sided in my opinion. As the character Chris alludes to, reality (and what subsequently, a political theory should imitate) is more of a cycle ( and balance) with both order and disorder at play with one another.
With that said it was a hilariously funyn film as well, Sean ( Devon Sawa ) played the funniest psychotic punk bum I've ever seen; loved the face he made at the woman in the clothing store.
Also I thought the camera work and editing in the psychedelic scenes was very well done as well. ^_^.
Great film! Worth watching!
