Review of SLC Punk (1998) by Cristofer — 17 Jun 2008
I lived this movie. I knew James Merendino in high school and he took almost every scene in the movie from real events. The main characters are based on my best friends, Jon Pos and Ehsan Hadjibian. There really was a 'Heroin Bob' and the real Heroin Bob DID do heroin.
He OD'd two years ago. RIP Bob. Merendino is an asshole but he made a pretty good movie. Several people have told me they think there is a character based on me in the movie, but there are a couple of characters it could be.
The guy named Chris with the Cadillac who made the beer run to Evanston is the most likely candidate. I used to drive a '68 Eldorado.
