Review of Slaughterhouse-Five (1972) by Freddy F — 20 Jan 2008
Liked it more than I thought I would -- it would be difficult for anyone to capture the constant time shifting of the novel. I really liked the moments where shifts in time revealed symbolic correspondences -- the sound of applause, the shape of a hallway, the invocation of the Wizard of Oz.
It gave Pilgrim's life a real sense of continuity, underlining the thought that the past, present and future are all caught up in a single action.
