Review of Slaughterhouse-Five (1972) by Yotam K — 31 Aug 2007
Billy Pilgrim has come unstuck in time. And so will you if you read Vonnegut's book or see this movie. It is a remarkably faithful big screen adaption of the less-than-conventional book. It is a period piece, of the time it was set in, the time the book was written (1960s) and the time when the movie was filmed (early '70s).
Seeing this will likely leave you unstuck in time too. Side comment: Friends visited Dresden, in east Germany shortly after the Berlin Wall came down and reported that the #1 question asked by English-speaking visitors at the city's then meager trourism bureau was, "where's Slaughterhouse Five?".
