Before Bull Durham, there was Slapshot. One of the best sports satires ever produced. If you want to find out why Paul Newman was considered one of the best actors around, watch his portrayal of Reggie Dunlop the maniacal captain of the Charlestown Chiefs, a 3rd rate hockey team, destined for anonymity.
Great storyline and acting all around.
