One of the funniest films ever and by far the best hockey film ever. Paul Newman is great as the coach and player Reggie Dunlop but it is the Hansen brothers that keep you laughing and steal the film. The three guys who played the Hansen brothers are still legends because of their coke bottle glasses, their love for childish things, and how they played hockey in Slap Shot.
While I could see how Newman did not enjoy this film as much as others, he had to appreciate the slapstick comedy and writing of this film. It had to be a much needed break from constantly making one big budget action drama after another.
The ending was also excellently done. Absolutely hilarious.
