Review of Slap Shot (1977) by Kip M — 14 Mar 2012
There are parts of this film that are completely juvenile, yet its heart is such that I found myself kind of won over by the end and actually quite fond of the rag-tag team of hockey players. But I think it's a flaw of the film that it revels in all of the hijinks yet then appears to be partly condemning them by the end.
I was quite surprised to find that George Roy Hill directed it as it's nothing like any of the other films of his that I've seen.
