Review of Slacker Uprising (2007) by Lee G — 23 Sep 2008
While I admire and respect Michael Moore's devotion to getting disenfranchised Americans to the polls in 2004, I felt the film suffered from poor editing. This documentary could have been half as long and still retained it's punch.
There's only so much stadium shots and podium speeches one can take before it gets boring. It really only gets interesting if you stick it out for the first 45 minutes. Once the Republicans start resisting Moore's tour, realizing that he could tip the scales in favour of the Democrats, that's when this documentary really gets interesting.
It's too bad that it's halfway into the film. Will most viewers wait that long?
