Review of Slacker Uprising (2007) by Gord C — 01 Oct 2008
I've been suffering from political malaise of late. Watching this film has almost completely cured it. Say what you like about Moore, but he embodies the true patriot: he loves his country with all of his heart and will everything in his power to save it.
Even to save it from itself. This is a chronicle of a two-pronged effort: first to fire up the "slackers" of America and get them interested enough in the process to register and vote, but also to get out the vote that by and large does not support the political right.
Both were a resounding success: 21 million new voters registered and Kerry won in 54 of the 62 cities he visited. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough.
