Review of Slacker (1990) by Nathaniel H — 23 Nov 2006
This insightful flick which follows Austin "slackers" around with comedy and conversation wasn't the first indie film, but certainly inspired many indie film makers upon its release in 1991 (one being Kevin Smith, who regularly notes in interviews that "Slacker" inspired him to make "Clerks").
This film uses a "seamless" story line style, a style of which Richard Linklater would come to revisit later on in films such as "Before Sunrise" and "Waking Life".
