Review of Slacker (1990) by Darryl J — 30 Sep 2008
An eavesdropper's dream. The genius of this film is not only how it is structured but the ideas and people it encounters, also. Even if you don't like this, you can't say it wasn't interesting.
This is not one of those films where you fall in love with the characters(I don't think you really could) or even like them for that matter. That's not the point. Linklater just gives us momentary glimpses in the lives and thoughts of these beatniks, misfits, bohemians, theorists, etc.
and I loved every second.
