Review of Slacker (1990) by Andrejs P — 31 Oct 2009
I had not watched this movie in probably almost 15 years and I saw that Criterion issued a release of the flick so I finally got around to watching it again. From what I can tell anyway, there really isnt a plot to the movie but it simply shows a glimpse of a moment in each characters life as they randomly enter the view of the camera.
As one character departs, another becomes the focus of the film. And man there are some real characters in the film. There is a lot to like about many of the characters, from the opening scene where a passanger in a cab is having a one sided discussion with the cab driver, the chick who is trying to sell madonna's pap smear, the weirdo who kills his mom, etc etc.
I cant wait to watch this movie again!!!
