Review of Skyline (2010) by Michael V — 14 Nov 2011
So this time around The Brothers Strause decided to fuck up an original alien movie instead of going up against a franchise that has been a milestone in sci-fi cult. And yes dear god they succeeded. So you are locked inside of an apartment building with hottie never was Brittany Daniels and TV actors while tentacle brain stealing aliens are swarming around L.
A. All the action and emotion is happening outside but we are stuck inside with these douche bags. Then we only get bits of the story really. Don't know exactly what the aliens intent is except to steal our brains and shove them up their ass.
Then the "hero" gets infected with power but really doesn't use it because he's to busy arguing with the building attendant. Then we are left with one of the biggest open endings for a sequel that I've ever seen.
It was like they just had no idea where else to go with it and figure they'll come up with the rest in a few years. This tried to be like one of those reality shaky cam movies but without anybody running around with a camera.
So we don't even feel we are involved. We are audience to the audience of the alien invasion. Sure there are a few cool special effect scenes but who the fuck cares. This movie is worthless and fuck the Strause brothers for making me hate an Alien and Predator movie.
