Review of Skyline (2010) by Bobby L — 27 Sep 2011
Cool Idea, poor execution. I loved the feeling of being trapped with the chaos of an alien invasion outside. This inescapable aspect was the only thing that struck me as interesting and cool - the lead characters weren't the "hero's" trying to save the day, they weren't fighting the ultimate bad guys to put an end to the invasion - they were just innocent bystanders, watching on as chaos erupts around them. That being said, everything else in the movie sucked. The acting was really bad sometimes - the plot got really annoying - and then the ending...o the ending. I mean, it really was a cool idea - but then it ended!!! It's a great kicker in the end, some people will find it weird - I thought it could have been really cool!!! They never did explain why it was only him - and I was expecting some super cool fighting in the end (kind of the opposite of what I liked above). Regardless, Skyline kept me interested, but constantly continued to let me down at every turn. Maybe someone will try again someday and do this idea some justice.
O AND WHO THE HELL WROTE THAT DIALOG??!?!?!?!?
