Review of Skyfall (2012) by Nick A — 12 Mar 2015
Hardly (though unquestionably) better than Quantum of Solace, Skyfall is a similar exercise in aesthetic-over-narrative filmmaking whose most criminal act to cinematic storytelling relates specifically to the plot point upon which its whole relies: a baddie has killed an unnamed MI6 operative and stolen from said operative a hard drive containing a list of all NATO personnel, which the baddie intends to publicize; the baddie initially gets away, and the hard drive is never seen again or even mentioned after the film's first act ends.
