EDIT: having rewatched this I no longer mind that it is a bit more like a standard Bond film, in fact it's kind of fun when you realise these last three films are meant to lead up to the standard Bond setup. I may have changed the rating to 4 but this time round I couldn't believe how blue and orange everything was. I don't know how I missed it in the cinema. Literally every shot for for 3/4 of the film consists entirely of the colours blue and orange. Quite distracting.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: No doubt being called a 'return to form' as it isn't very much like the previous two. Personally I can take or leave Bond, same with Star Wars and Indiana Jones, they're all just childhood Saturday teatime material as far as I'm concerned. So I actually really liked the first two Daniel Craig films as they were a fresh take, particularly when viewed as two parts of one story. Bit of a step backwards as far as I'm concerned, but maybe Bond is just meant to be a crowd pleaser. Beautifully shot though, particularly the ending in the highlands.

One other thing, I don't know how timelines are meant to work in the Bond series (are they even meant to follow on from each other?) but this one seemed to make more sense as happening after the Pierce Brosnan series, with the first two Daniel Craig films as some weird kind of 'alternate universe' or something.
