Review of Skyfall (2012) by Shane F — 01 Nov 2015
The melding of past and present is deftly handled by Sam Mendes in this taught, gritty and hard-edged Bond. The frailties and weaknesses of Bond are laid bare, while the tension builds against insurmountable intelligence.
Enter Javier Bardem. Captivating, enigmatic and meticulous. Superbly crafted plot lines intertwine with a myriad of metaphors. All underpinned by some incredible Bond action scenes. Truly one of the best Bonds, reinvigorating the franchise for another generation.
