Review of Skyfall (2012) by Bradley W — 05 Nov 2015
Skyfall is a fantastic film and one of the best 007 films. Sam Mendes brings all the magic and talent of his directing skills to bring us what might be the most action packed and emotional James Bond film yet.
Its masterfully crafted with a great story and interesting characters. Daniel Craig still proves to be one of the best actors to play James Bond ever, with him being my personal favorite. He gives a vulnerable and dark performance here that may challenge his incredible performance in Casino Royale.
Judi Dench as M is also fantastic, as she really cuts down the character into something much more human. Javier Bardem gives one of my favorite Bond villains ever, with a character who completely terrifying and mysterious while still being a blast to watch on screen.
The action was fantastic and truly shows how far the series has evolved in 50 years. Skyfall is a perfect 007 film and one of the best films of the franchise, but what truly amazes me is its focus on the relationship of Bond and M and how it dares to be something the series has never been before.
