Review of Skyfall (2012) by Isaac B — 21 Feb 2015
After a brief and unfortunate foray into mediocrity with Quantum of Solace, Skyfall brings back most everything we loved about Casino Royale while still innovating enough to make it new. Craig, as usual, really commits to the role of Bond and it pays off this time, not being hampered by the weak action and story of QoS.
This movie is very emotional and despite all of its grand action sequences (and there are quite a few) the characters are masterfully understated. The supporting cast is exemplary and happens to include both my favourite actor and actress (Ralph Fiennes and Judi Dench, respectively) alongside Javier Bardem's very enchanting as well as haunting villain that perfectly contrasts Daniel Craig.
