Review of Sky High (2003) by Kaneda ! — 27 Jul 2005

[b]Deadly Outlaw Rekka[/b] - I'm not a big fan of Miike's work, but occasionally he makes a movie that is right up my alley. This is one of those fine works. Not as cool as Fudoh, but darn close. 7.5/10.

[b]Steamboy[/b] - Ten years in the making, and it shows. As a nutso Akira fan, I approve.

[b]The Island[/b] - Hey, look, I can suspend disbelief for a summer movie. Twice as much when its a Bay movie. But dude, really, falling with a giant sign almost seventy stories? They would have gone right through that net, and come out as liquid and little pieces on the other side. Anyway, all the haters can get bent, this was hell of a fast paced action flick. Surpisingly good for a Bay movie.

[b]Sky High[/b] - One of my favorite directors strikes again! Good storyline, very interesting. I wish this guy would just whip out another Versus-style flick again...full blown action.
