Review of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) by Mitchell R — 03 Mar 2009
Sky captain and the world of tomorrow was not as well known to average movie-goers as other blockbuster films around the time that it was released, and this is unfortunate as the level of detail put into every part of the film is amazing.
The maker of the film was very ambitious in the production of the film, where all but the actors were completely computer generated. It had never been done before but it allowed the filmmaker a lot of freedom to use ideas that normally would have been too expensive for a standard budget.
All in all sky captains? story was immersive and brought together with a creative flair that gave the film a feel of adventure and retro-futurism that produces a worthwhile two hours of escapism that cant be missed.
