A really gorgeous ode to industrial age fantasy with influences like Max Fleischer's Superman cartoons of the 40's and the illustrations of Hugh Ferriss; Paltrow grates on my nerves in everything except Talented Mr Ripley but I like the appearance so much I overlook the simplistic plot and characters; I think I appreciate it more now than when it came out.
The making-of is worth checking out to see everything involved with putting the 100% green screen production together . . .
