Review of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) by Mike T — 14 Dec 2009

If we had the special effects back in the old days, this the kind of movie that would be made. This is like watching an action picture directed by Frank Capra. Although the pacing is very much like a classic movie also, and that may turn some people off. Although the look of the movie should provide a great hook for getting them back.

Frankly if I had to pick the one flaw ( and it is a huge flaw ) it looks as if Gweneth Paltrow is very uncomfortable acting against a green screen. Considering that most everything in this movie is CGI, that presents a problem. Thankfully, not one that the movie can't doesn't overcome.
