Review of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) by Nathan W — 02 Aug 2011

The early theatre style of the film turned me off at first, but it is very well done. Really well-casted. The old-school gadgets are pretty cool. Transitions were pretty good too. Plot was a bit fast though.

There were also a fair bit of lines and scenes for the viewer's benefit that likely would be done without. Pretty fun allegorization of enlightenment thought. Not sure if it's intended. The whole thing with the 2 camera shots was pretty well done despite a high possibility of utter failure.
