Review of Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (2004) by Joselle A — 14 May 2012
This is a great film completely original, fast paced, and exciting film. This is probably one of the best films I have ever seen. This is very different from the usual kind of films we see. The plot takes place in some sort of noir but in color 1930's or 40's I'm guessing.
But anyway the intro kind of reminds me of the old old Superman show with a very good reporter Polly Perkins in her office while robots attack, she soon goes outside and discovers the invasion and panics so she call her boss and tells him that she is eager to get the story behind this chaos and just runs off, into hiding, she then hides in an alley finds more robots and eagerly takes photos but then the robots discover and she tries to escape before she dies the hero Sky Captain come just in time to save his friend, and to save everyone else.
In the middle of combat the robots just leave without any explanation and so Polly goes up to her friend and Joe (sky Captain) responds to her question with an annoyed and ignorant attitude. Later they go together tofind some clues doing so they meet a scientist who was dying and a mysterious assasin, the Dr.
leaves two important tubes to Polly and his suitcase. Sky Captain and Polly go back to his base see some of his friends and leave again. When this happens Joe's close friend Dex is captured and they then begin their adventure to stop the evil threat and to rescue Dex.
