Review of Skeletons (2010) by Chris Z — 27 May 2010
Wacky, pretty funny, surreal and imaginative. Bumbling metaphysical exorcists I guess? Who tap into people's memories and reveal all their secrets, kind of glorified psychics really. Except that they're bumbling brits with wacky gadgets, goggles, a weird little boat by a nuclear plant, and when things go awry they start speaking Bulgarian.
Their boss is a creepy guy who looks like his throat has been slashed open or someone attempted to strangle him with piano wire. They run into all kinds of problems with a woman searching for her lost husband, whom they presume is dead.
Turns out she is just insane, so he left and is now living with another woman. But the daughter (an actress named Tuppence, how hot is that!?) is mute, and shares their psychic powers and generally screws up the whole operation.
This movie is super wacky, beautifully shot, WEIRD, but creative. Recommended.
