Review of Sixteen Candles (1984) by Annemarie B — 06 Aug 2009
In 1984 I was 16, and this was a perfect movie. It has a heroine who is not super perfect, a crazy Chinese exchange student, a geek squad and a cute rich guy. Watching it with my own teenage daughter was almost as fun as watching it the first time, only now I cry at the scene of Sam and her dad when he figures out that the family forgot her birthday.
Best moment: Jenny biting at the rice after the wedding. CLASSIC!
