Review of Sixteen Candles (1984) by Tony C — 26 Aug 2009
Directed by John Hughes, and starring Anthony Michael Hall and Molly Ringwald comes another great carrer starting movie for the great director John Hughes. From a time when teen comedies were trruly well-made and funny, with heart and a good story, comes Sixteen Candles.
One of the funniest movies ever. The great movie has a good plot, and great acting from the two lead actors in the film. one again Molly Ringwald and Anthony Hall are great in another defining comedy film.
The acting, the comedy and the story are truly great. The movie's only flaw is that some of the characters eparate at the end when they should have become better friends, but the movie has a great opening classic 80s movie musical sequence, as well as a perfect ending which works with the way the movie begins.
Just like the Breakfast club the movie has a good moral, while still keeping the comedy up, making it a great and classic film, that defined a genre and a time period in the United States.
