Review of Sixteen Candles (1984) by Ricardo Junior S — 26 Aug 2010
John Hughes was the voice of a generation in movies and "Sixteen Candles" shows why. It's a funny, full of heart and good dialogues. There's no villains, just a bunch of genuine adolescents trying to discover who they really are.
Seems a little dated visually, but the important thing here is the message. The most impressive is that this is only the start for Hughes, who would only improve with movies like "Pretty in pink", "Some kind of wonderful" and his masterpiece "The Breakfast club".
