Review of Sixteen Candles (1984) by Matthew S — 14 Aug 2015
I was 17 when I first saw this movie. I laughed, but even back then I found the manner in which the Asian character was presented disturbing. It actually ruined the movie and my high back then. I no longer get stoned, but I still am unable to enjoy the movie for the racism it presents.
Which is too bad, because there are a lot of smart things going on in this comedy.
