Review of Six Shooter (2004) by Alex S — 27 Dec 2013
Dark comedy about a seemingly crazy young man threatening everyone with a gun who sits in front of a depressed widower. Though the screenplay is witty and even legitimately funny, there is also a lot of darkness and true emotional depth in this intelligent short film by Martin McDonagh, which he based on his own novel.
This blend of comedy and drama is sharp, intelligent, entertaining and very effective. The performances are great, with Gleeson's imposing on-screen presence particularly felt throughout.
