Review of Sita Sings the Blues (2008) by Sarah C — 12 Jul 2009
I've never been prouder to live in Champaign. This film from Champaign-Urbana resident Nina Paley proves that a more traditional sort of 2D animation can be every bit as mind-blowingly beautiful as anything Pixar produces.
The style is absolutely mesmerizing and quite unlike anything I've ever seen. Also, the music by Annette Hanshaw was wonderfully utilized giving the musical a delightful twist.
