Review of Sisters (2015) by Gary Helong Z — 03 Jan 2016
The film producer knows by heart how Tina+Amy can be a major eye-catcher. And based on the box-office sale number, he is right. The producer simply played a series of trash cards: the combination of these two funny gals, the misleading trailer, plus the non-stop promotions of them on many talk shows.
And of course, these trash cards made a profit. However, this movie at most is a mediocre, non-funny half-comedy. If you pay attention to Tina and Amy's faces on talk shows, you can tell that they themselves are not proud of this movie.
Tina and Amy are popular, because of their smart jokes and their playing-a-fool. Whereas in this movie, all they showed us is playing-a-fool. So in this movie, they are jokers, not comedians. By the way, I did laugh out loud in one scene, where the dude sat on a music box.
And that was it.
