Review of Sisters (2015) by Brendan N — 08 Nov 2017
Seen this pop up on netflix and remembered I had hadn't seen it. I like the actresses but this hybrid is a mixed bag of drama and comedy that never blends together. The party scenes don't have that biting edge that is typical of the house trashing variety.
I tend to know a below par movie when I'm checking the remaining minutes, this film missed so many opportunities with the large cast ensemble. Tina Fey hasn't had a great film career which is a shame as she has a strong talent in front and behind the camera.
I'm a little puzzled with some of the choices made in this film, the party just never feels that great and the melodrama is really weird. I get they wanted some depth but this isn't the type of film to have a giant heart moment that happens in a sink hole.
The talents swing and miss in a film that could've delivered more. 08-11-2017.
